PM applauds rangers for protecting natural resources

Prime Minister Dasho Tshering Tobgay joined rangers and foresters from across the country to celebrate the World Ranger Day themed ‘Stand with the World’s Rangers’ on Tuesday morning.

Lyonchhen, during the event, reportedly, thanked the rangers for protecting the country’s most precious natural resources and the country’s future. Lyonchhen said that rangers lost their lives and that we must knowledge and honor them for their sacrifice.

According to Lyonchhen, our visionary Monarchs through their farsighted leadership has kept Bhutan in one of the most pristine and desired state of natural aura.

Lyonchhen also congratulated the ranger fraternity for their selfless and dedicated service in protecting our natural resources and encouraged them to work hard and display exemplary roles in our conservation efforts.

Meanwhile, nine publications were also launched during the celebration of the World Ranger Day. The Ranger Day celebration this year is aimed towards the recognition of women rangers from around the country.

Around 206 technical women rangers are serving with the Department of Forests and Park Services presently.
