The quiz was started to promote a fun way for clients to know about the bank’s products and services and in the process also help improve one’s general knowledge. It also provides an opportunity to interact with clients and provoke discussion and healthy debate among the participants.

It was launched last year in October during the Royal Highland festival.

He is very enthusiastic about general knowledge. He participates in the quiz every week. However, he missed the quiz till question 27 because he did not have idea of the quiz.

The questions are general and some are related to banks. So far it has reached 45 questions.

The Head PR and Media of BoB, Passang Norbu said questions include sports, culture, current events and the bank’s products and services to create awareness among clients.

Tshering Dorji said that he heard about the quiz from his friend.

“Then I started to research the bank services and other general knowledge questions. I even made a notebook for GK,” he said.

The respondents have to answer to the quiz questions immediately as soon as they are posted by BoB.

“First, I used to set the alarm to remind me to take the quiz. As soon as the alarm rang, I relaxed for few a minutes even during busy hours,” said Tshering.

He said some questions are easy to answer while for some he would browse the net. BoB awards prizes to the winner like diaries, wallets and Royal wedding commemorative Nu 100 note.

He said he will continue to participate in the future. “I am a hardworking person and very interested to learn more,” he said.

Passang Norbu said that BoB started with prizes of Nu 100/99 B-mobile or T-Cell vouchers through mBoB along with a BoB diary and slowly included the Golden Jubilee corporate gifts (wallet, hat and Pen) and also items from partners such as football from Bhutan Football Federation, sports shirts from Bhutan Olympic Committee and Royal Wedding coins and notes from RMA.
