NC’s 21st session to include follow-up reports

The 21st National Council (NC) session will see the follow-ups on the resolutions of the 20th session of NC as per the final agenda of the NC.

The follow-up report includes Legal Aid to Indigent Persons, Government to Citizen (G2C) services, Local Government members’ leave entitlement and the Allocating of Budget for black topping of Chuzomsa – Baylandra road.

The session will also deliberate and adopt the Annual Anti-Corruption Report 2017 and introduce the Budget and Appropriation Bill for the Financial Year 2018-19.

Speaking at the first press conference for the third tenure on Thursday, Deputy Chairperson Jigme Wangchuk said the government launches many G2C services but failed to implement them in the rural areas where people are uneducated and still avail the old system of services.

Eminent member Kesang Chuki Dorjee and member from Thimphu, Tshewang Rinzin also attended the press conference.

The agenda also includes Ratification of Agreement between the Bhutan and Bangladesh for the Avoidance of Double Taxation and Prevention of Fiscal Evasion with respect to Taxes of Income.

The joint sitting will deliberate on the disputed clauses of the Audit Bill of the Kingdom of Bhutan 2017, Public Accounts Committee report, review of Performance Audit Report and the Annual Report by the Prime Minister of Bhutan.

The closing ceremony of the NC is scheduled on June 27.
