Bhutan was bestowed the Country Award for the Asia and Pacific region during the 7th annual Global Inclusion Awards 2018 that was held early this month at the Ritz-Carlton in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The Royal Monetary Authority (RMA) stated that it is deeply honored to be globally recognized during the Global Inclusion Awards 2018, organized by Child & Youth Finance International, the Argentina’s G20 Presidency and GPFI with the support of the G20-2020 Saudi Secretariat. It was held as part of the GPFI Forum: “Technological Trends in Digital Financial Inclusion”.
The Ambassador of Bhutan to Kuwait, Kutshab Tshering Gyaltshen Penjor, who accepted the award on behalf of RMA and Bhutan, mentioned that the award would go a long way to motivate various stakeholders to further enhance financial inclusion, particularly for our children and youth who are the foundations for our future.
According to RMA, the award recognizes efforts to further the economic citizenship of children and youth. The award is recognition of the collective efforts of our financial institutions, government agencies and other stakeholders. We will continue to work towards fulfilling the aspirations of His Majesty the King for inclusive socio-economic development. The RMA also thanked and acknowledged Kutshab Tshering Gyaltshen Penjor, all financial institutions, the government and Child Youth Finance International, Amsterdam.
